The University in Ann Arbor City


The University of Michigan was established in Detroit on August 6, 1817, moved to Ann Arbor in 1837. It consists of two regional campuses in Flint and Dearborn. The Initial lessons in Ann Arbor commenced in 1841.


The pioneer class of eleven students graduated in 1845. The University is accredited by the Higher learning commission. It’s known for its extensive public research and contribution to the medical field.

The University Administration



Unlike other universities, where chancellors head the institution, where chancellors head the institution, a board of regents which consisted of eight members was established by the organic act of March 18, 1837, to govern the university. However, since 1850 the university is headed by the principal executive officer appointed by the regents.

Campuses


Michigan University consists of four major campuses namely, the North, Central, Medical and South Campuses. Adjacent to each other is the central and south campuses while the Huron River sets them apart from the North campuses. Availability of bus services facilitates the university facility with transport connectivity.

Academics


The university is considered as a giant. Why? It is ranked as one of the best public universities in the United States offering high quality education, with a major in research. It offers undergraduate, graduate, masters and doctoral programs thus it has over the years received immense funding by the regimes for strategic research and aide peace and tranquility.

Co-Curricular Activities


This is not where you stay in learning environment all day. This would lead to dullness and a lot of inactiveness, right? This explains why the University engages students in co-curricular activities such as tennis, athletics, hockey and basketball just to mention but a few. You can also take a few hours in a hair salon just to beautify yourself more.


The students have participated in Olympics winning a total of 151 medals which is by far not a mean feat. The University also promotes cultural activities hence there a variety of organizations that the students get enrolled in to promote both social and political awareness.

You have an option to attend other Universities in the country but you will have missed a lot by not attending this one. This is where you can have your life shaped, molded and later have that bright future that many dream of.
